Swoop through the underwater world with our UW scooters.

Diver Propulsion Vehicles (DPVs) scoot you through the water without kicking. Whether making a shore dive or diving from a boat, a DPV is a great way to explore more in a shorter time and blast doing it.

You will start with a first dive to practice basic vehicle handling skills. Then in a second dive, you will plan and perform a typical DPV dive within recreational diving limits.

DPVs are a kick! It's all about fun!

The program is a perfectly natural fit with the Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty Course.

Let's start your PADI® DPV Specialty Course!

During this Specialty Course, you will learn:

  • Planning and organization of DPV dives and how to deal with potential problems and dangers of diving with a DPV, including procedures in case of a lost-buddy
  • Special equipment considerations, including battery care, maintenance, and precautions
  • Proper handling techniques to:
    • Avoid propeller entanglement
    • Deal with vehicle failure or a runaway motor
    • Perform proper descents and ascents
    • Define an appropriate turnaround point
    • Avoid harming fragile marine life.
    • Choose between possible approaches for entering and exiting the water with a DPV – whether from shore or a boat

IMPORTANT! -Flying after Diving

When planning your diving trip and your journey toward your destinations, always remember that you must not fly directly after scuba diving. It accentuates the risk of having decompression sickness.

diver-do-not-fly-for-18-hours-after-diving

The PADI guidelines are to NOT FLY during a 12 hours interval after a single dive and 18 hours after multiple dives. As often when it comes to scuba diving, take a conservative approach to safety, and whenever possible, avoid flying the next 24 hours after a dive.

If you intend to do multiple dives on different days during your trip, consider buying your own dive computer, as it will calculate the optimal time to fly based on your diving history.

Even more than other outdoor sports, diving is weather- and sea-dependent. Be aware that some sites might be inaccessible on certain days and that diving trips might be canceled due to dangerous conditions.

Luckily, Thailand has a fantastic climate almost all year round and this happens very rarely.
