Coral Grand Divers is a great place to train to become a diving professional! The first step is to become a PADI Divemaster.
ABOUT THE COURSE:
Koh Tao is the perfect place for people to train to become a dive professional. The entire island lives and breathes scuba diving! Koh Tao is an absolutely beautiful place to live and to work. The lifestyle is very relaxed and the diving is very good most of the year, allowing you incredible encounters with turtles, schooling fish and occasionally whale sharks!
The PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist Instructors with student divers and work as a PADI pro all over the world.
Coral Grand Divers is a reputable PADI 5 Star IDC Center situated on the north end of the stunning Sairee beach. We are lucky to be one of the few dive centres on the island that can rely on 2 swimming pools, one of which is exclusively dedicated and purposely built for diving courses. Our modern IDC classroom allows us to carry out all professional programs with the support of multimedia.
We are a big enough dive school to have all the proper facilities, good equipment, and nice diving boats! However we are not so big as to be a ‘factory’ where there are far too many trainees to give you personalized attention. Depending on the season we have between 10 and 15 full time staff and usually around 10 ongoing Divemaster Candidates. This offers the perfect opportunity to learn from a variety of different dive professionals but yet receive the personalized attention that excellent training requires.
During your course you will assist our experienced instructors, learn professional level dive theory, take part in a number of workshops, and of course get unlimited fun diving to get your experience and dive numbers up!
We encourage all our Divemaster candidates to do the course between 5 and 12 weeks. Unlike all the PADI non-professional levels, the Divemaster Course is more like an internship: the more you put into it, the more you get out of it. We try to create high quality divemasters, giving you plenty of time to not just complete the bare minimum requirements, but also time to grow into qualified dive professionals!
In the past, we have allowed our stellar divemaster candidates a chance to intern with us, which gives you valuable career experience as well as professional recommendations. Our network of connections on the island and beyond is quite large, so we try to help our best candidates find work. You can sign up for as many dive trips as you want, we even encourage you to do so! Our goal for every Divemaster that walks out of our door is to make sure he or she has all the necessary tools, knowledge and experience needed for a future employment in this amazing industry.
In order to become a PADI Divemaster and begin working as a professional, you need to first complete the following levels of training, either with PADI or a similar diving organization:
1.) Open Water Diver
2.) Advanced Open Water
3.) EFR (must be current within two years from when you submit your application)
5.) Must have 40 Dives
*As part of our Divemaster training program, we allow you fun dive for free as much as you’d like during your training. If you don’t have 40 dives yet, we will let you fun dive for free until you get this amount. Then you can begin your orientation!
Please find below a detailed break down of all the possible information regarding the island, our programs and prices.
